According to United Nations, plastic pollution has raised exponentially from 2 million tons to 348 million tons across the year between 1950 to 2017. Many plastic waste escapes from the recycling chain are ending up in landfills and eventually, the ocean. Plastic waste, which took decades and even hundreds of year to decompose in natural environment, are devastating to the ocean life.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) is a collection of 17 interlinked universal goals aiming for a better and more sustainable future by the year of 2030. Malaysia together with other 192 world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda) at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on 25 September 2015.
Abiding to the United Nations SDGs, aiming to provide a greener path for existing plastic waste as well as supporting local women with job opportunities.
The processes of turning plastic waste into flakes allow the recycling plant to manufacturing new products with the least environmental impact. Furthermore, the scheme empower women and provide flexible working hours that promotes work-life balance.
